Dear Mom, Dad, + Sis,
In a short time I will be off on my furlough. But I wanted to write some sort of letter before I left, so here goes.
I received three letters today. Two were V-mail. One from you, another from Uncle John + Aunt Minnie. The others were an Air mail of yours from May 12.
As for looking down on a thunderstorm. Well when we get over them you do not know there is a storm. It is so peaceful and nice. Makes you feel so much closer to God. That is not much of an explanation, you must see it to understand what I mean.
I hope Bob is smart enough not to pick an English girl for a wife. There are plenty of nice ones, but I do not see how he could be sure that it is the right thing.
I hope all prayers of the folks can somehow be answered when D-day comes. It will be anything but nice, but also must be.
I have to stop. And so until I get back.
All my love,
Walter
PS Hope I see John.
